Hi, I’m George Helon – this is my official website. Welcome!
I am an armiger, a Freeman of the City of London, a Kentucky Colonel and a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) for the State of Queensland, Australia (since 17 January 1994).
Also, I am recognised as an historian, lecturer, author and genealogist; an etymologist and ethnographer; a theologian and a social commentator.
As well being an abuse victim survivor campaigner, I am a patient, mentor, counsellor and advocate for those with rare diseases and genetic disorders, and a proponent for aged care and carers.
Previously domiciled in Ballarat, Victoria to 1992, I now reside in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.
On 17 August 2018 I was recognised as one of Toowoomba’s POWER 100: The Region’s Most Influential People.
In October 1994 I was honoured to be accorded the tribal name ‘Buralnyarla‘ (‘White Owl’ – keeper of the knowledge) in recognition for the work I had done for the Aboriginal peoples of south-east Queensland.
Some of my foreign nobiliary titles of honour and dignity, knighthoods, medals and awards are listed in the Libro de Oro del Muy Noble Cabildo de San Jorge y Santiago Apostol / Golden Book of the Order of the Most Noble Council of the Apostles St George and St James (2012; pps. 48, 71, 129. ISBN: 84-935701-7-6).
My life’s guiding principles are simple: “that each person should take some time to help out, assist and nurture others – especially those genuinely less fortunate, disadvantaged and needy” and “life is what you make it – NOT what you wish it would be!”
